The best rates for car rental in Fukuoka!
Fukuoka is a city in Japan, located in the northern region of Kyushu (Japan’s southernmost island, excluding Okinawa).
In recent years, Fukuoka has become a hot spot for start up companies in Japan, making Fukuoka one of the fastest growing cities in Japan!
Besides the business and start up opportunities that attract people to the city, Fukuoka’s unique culture has also attracted travelers from all around the globe. Fukuoka offers an atmosphere unlike any other city in Japan. Although it is a large city, the buildings are a lot more spaced out than in cities like Tokyo and Osaka. This makes for a more open and “free” feeling. This atmosphere makes Fukuoka one of the best cities to walk around at night.
Speaking of walking around at night – have you ever heard of the ‘Yatai’? Perhaps one of the most popular activities in Fukuoka is the ‘Yatai,’ or street food tents. Here you can see locals gather to drink and chat while enjoying local favorites such as cod roe omelettes or the famous Hakata ramen! Many of the Yatai are located on ordinary sidewalks, but there are also lined up along the riverside. For a chance to mingle, drink, and talk with some locals this is for you!
People do not only come to Fukuoka just to stay in Fukuoka. Many people use Fukuoka as a starting point to tour around the Kyushu island. From here people visit Nagasaki, Beppu, Kumamoto, Kagoshima, and many other areas. As Kyushu is the Southern most areas in Japan, it is also one of the more tropical areas. The vegetation in the area is different from that in Kanto or Hokkaido.
Kyushu is also a volcanic region, boasting some of the most beautiful mountains and hot spring baths in Japan! Take Kagoshima for example. It has the beautiful Sakurajima volcano. A volcano on it’s own little island that can still be seen billowing smoke from its top. Kagoshima is also home to the famous Ibusuki sand baths! Where you get buried in sand and feel the heat from the steam rising from underground.
Regardless of what you plan on doing, exploring Kyushu or staying in Fukuoka, you are bound to have an unforgettable trip!
Also, do not forget to add the Kyushu Expressway Pass to your car rental! It will save you lots of money on highway tolls.
