For first time Japan drivers, Hokkaido is a great place to get some practice (Not counting winter!). As Hokkaido is mostly rural, there are few cars and crazy drivers to worry about. There are also significantly less intersections than there are in the cities.
During the winter seasons Hokkaido receives large amounts of snowfall, making the region a top destination for skiers and snowboarders from all over the globe. After exiting customs/security please call +81-092-687-4556 and let the staff know that you have arrived and that you would like to request a shuttle.
- 2.
For customers arriving at the Domestic Terminal, after exiting the baggage claim area, immediately take a left and walk to the very end of the airport.
- 3.
You will see an exit labelled 'Chartered Bus (Permitted Vehicle Only'). Exit the building through there.
- 4.
Once you have exited, immediately walk to your left, and you will see the shuttle pick-up area about 15 meters away
- 5.
Wait here for 5-10 minutes until the shuttle arrives. The shuttle bus for the domestic terminal is shared between 4 rental companies. Just let the driver know you are with NICONICO Rent a Car and he/she will take you directly to the shop.

Once inside the Domestic Terminal, make your way to the first floor and walk to the Southern-most end of the Terminal. You will see an exit labelled 'Chartered Bus (Permitted Vehicle Only'). Exit the building through there.

Once you have exited, immediately walk to your left, and you will see the shuttle pick-up area about 15 meters away
