My. Fuji - Yoshida Trail
Approx. 2.5 hours from NICONICO Rent a Car Shin-Yokohama Airport Location
The most iconic Mountain in Japan. Mt. Fuji was officially declared a World Heritage Site in June 2013. There are several hiking trails available to hike this Mountain, but the Yoshida Trail is considered the most popular one. We recommend that you read more detailed guides, as hiking Mt. Fuji can be difficult for the unexperienced hiker. The most common plan for hikers is to climb halfway during the day, staying in a hut overnight (Be sure to look up at the sky before sleeping, the stars are beautiful), and then resume hiking early in the morning in order to catch the sun rising over the horizon. For a truly unforgettable experience we recommend this hike.

For those looking to see the more natural areas of Japan, we recommend Kirifuri-No-Taki in Nikko Prefecture! Kirifuri-No-Taki is one of the areas most popular waterfalls. It is famous for the vibrant colors of the trees and the mist created by the falling water. In early autumn you can see the beautiful mix of yellow, orange, green, and red, perfect for the nature photographers out there!

Looking for a relaxing get away? For those willing to make the trip, Kusatsu Onsen is the place to go! Kusatsu onsen is one of Japan's top three hot springs, pumping the largest volume of hot spring water. This small resort area has various hotels where you will be able to fully enjoy the relaxing and healing properties of the mineral-rich waters, as well as the world famous hospitality of the Japanese people. This beautiful resort village is small, so everything will be within walking distance. One fair warning: The air around Kusatsu Onsen smells very heavily of sulfur, so before you point any fingers, remember this!
